Founded in 2007, Travel The Unknown is an adventure tour company specialising in small group and tailormade tours to off-the-beaten-track destinations. We have always been drawn to remote places that have not been largely impacted by tourism, and we aspire to provide unique tours that keep our own environmental impact to a minimum.

Ensuring responsible travel is at the heart of what we do. With our tours we try to leave behind as small a footprint as possible whilst also benefiting the local people and their community. Read more about our ethos here

We may be a relatively small company (compared to some of the giants out there), but that doesn’t diminish our high standards and level of experience; in 2018 we won gold at the British Travel Awards for Best Escorted Adventure Holiday Company. This year we are finalists again and we’ll soon find out if we can defend our gold title.
