A jewel in the crown of Latin America, Cuba is the largest of the Caribbean islands. Declared the ‘most beautiful land ever seen’ by Christopher Columbus himself, this archipelago is studded with colourful colonial architecture and awash with turquoise seas. With its turbulent revolutionary heritage, the resilient Cuban people are unlike any other - with a fierce sense of individuality, a great sense of humour and a knack for producing the world’s finest cocktails and cigars. Experience well preserved eco-systems, picture-postcard towns, endless stretches of white sand, and a rustic, easy going way of life.

Cuban Casas

In Cuba, staying in a casa particular is an integral part of the Cuba experience and we have purposely designed our itineraries using such accommodation. From cosy cottage-style casas in Vinales to the airy colonial casas in Trinidad, you will also get a fascinating insight into daily Cuban family life. By staying in casas we can also ensure that the money goes directly to the families with whom you stay.

The largest island in the Caribbean, it is no surprise that Cuba is blessed with idyllic beaches and turquoise waters, which are home to astounding aquatic life.

From the plush all-inclusive resorts that occupy the northern playas in Varadero and Cayo Coco to the 15m sand dunes of Playa Pilar, dubbed the finest beach in the entire Caribbean, Cuba is unrivalled when it comes to beach experiences. Alternatively, head south to stunning Playa Ancon, a stone`s throw from Trinidad, or venture off the tourist trail to Baracoa, on Cuba`s eastern tip, to truly get away from it all.

With tropical mountain ranges, crystal clear waters and the world`s second largest coral reef, Cuba has it all when it comes to the outdoors. You could ride horseback like a Cuban cabellero through Vinales` rolling tobacco fields in Cuba`s Wild West, don hiking boots and tackle Pico Turquino, Cuba`s highest peak in the south, or experience the best of Cuba`s countryside on two wheels. If you prefer to see what`s going on beneath the surface, then you will be spoilt for choice by the endless snorkelling and diving options all around the country.

Boasting six UNESCO biosphere reserves and a tropical climate Cuba is a birder’s paradise with 350 species calling Cuba home. From one of the smallest birds in the world, the tiny bee hummingbird, to the world’s largest nesting site for flamingos, Cuba’s bird diversity is enormous. Our birding tours are led by experts.

Cuba has a vibe that few countries can match and this is no better displayed than during one of the many festivals that take place year-round. Cubans love to flout their rich musical heritage, with the biggest and most colourful festival being the Carnaval de Santiago de Cuba, which takes places in July. With festivals celebrating indigenous cultures, music and Cuba’s liberation, there is no shortage of fun to be had on this island.
