Day 1

On arrival, you will be greeted at the airport by your Travel The Unknown representative and transferred to your hotel. Rest of day free to relax. Overnight in Delhi. Meals: N/A

Day 2

Early morning flight from Delhi to Jabalpur. Our representative will greet you at the station for transfer to Kanha National Park (170km). On arrival, check into lodge, wash and relax. After lunch, enjoy afternoon game drive into the park. This park was the inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling's classic 'The Jungle Book'. Evening, return to lodge for dinner.Overnight in Kanha. Meals: B,L,D

Day 3

The lush sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows and ravines of Kanha provide an excellent habitat for Kanha's wildlife. Tiger spottings are quite common (but never guaranteed). Other wildlife includes Morning and afternoon game drives. Evening at the lodge. Meals: B,L,D

Day 4

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the park, on the look-out again for Kanha's fantastic wildlife. Rest of evening to relax. Dinner at lodge. Overnight in Kanha. Meals: B,L,D

Day 5

Enjoy early morning game drive into the park. After breakfast, drive to Bandhavgarh (250kms). Dinner at lodge. Evening to relax. Overnight in Bandhavgarh. Meals: B,L,D

Day 6

Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is spread across an area of 450 sq km. Once a hunting reserve of the royal family of Rewa, this reserve offers the best chances of glimpsing tigers in the wild of any national park in India. Morning and afternoon game drives. Wildlife includes: tigers, wild elephants, langur monkeys, sambar and spotted deer, hyenas, bears and much more. Evening at lodge. Overnight in Bandhavgarh. Meals: B,L,D

Day 7

Early morning elephant-back safari in the park. This offers the chance to spot wildlife from above and excellent panaromic views of the jungle terrain. Return to lodge for late breakfast. Afternoon game drive. Evening free at lodge. Overnight in Bandhavgarh. Meals: B,L,D

Day 8

After breakfast drive to Jabalpur (170 km) railway station for afternoon train (Somnath Express) to Pipariya. Transfer to Satpura (45kms). Dinner at resort. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Satpura. Meals: B, D

Day 9

Satpura is rightly believed to be one of India’s best kept secrets. Satpura is the only park of its kind in Central India that offers walking safaris, giving you a ‘one-of-a-kind’ opportunity to explore tiger country on foot. You are likely to sight Leopards, Sloth Bear, Indian Wild Dogs, hordes of Indian Gaur, Sambhar plus other herbivores found in Central India and if lucky the magnificent Tiger.

Day 10

Enjoy an early morning walking safari in the park. Return for breakfast. Free time to relax before your afternoon game drive. Evening free. Dinner at lodge. Meals: B,L,D

Day 11

Start very early for drive to Bhopal (130 km) airport to catch flight to Mumbai, then onward connecting flight to Diu. Our representative will greet you at Diu airport for transfer to Gir National Park (120 km). Evening free with dinner at lodge. Overnight in Gir. Meals: B,D

Day 12

Very different to the national parks of Central India, Gir National Park comprises 1412 sq km of deciduous forest interspersed with semi-evergreen and evergreen flora, acacia, scrub jungle, grasslands and rocky hills. This is the home of the rare Asiatic lion, only seen in this part of India. Other wildlife in Gir includes the wild ass, the chousingha (world's only 4-horned antelope), nilgai (blue bull antelope), leopards, wild boar and unique birdlife endemic to this region.

Morning and afternoon game drives in the park. Dinner at the lodge. Overnight in Gir. Meals: B,L,D

Day 13

Morning and evening drives in the Gir forests to look for the two big cats and to spot other wildlife. Between the drives, visit Somnath to see the 'Shore Temple' (one of the 12 holy abodes of Shiva), Sun Temple, Ahilya Temple and other monuments. Evening and dinner at lodge. Overnight in Gir. Meals: B,L,D

Day 14

After breakfast, depart for Ahmedabad airport to catch flight to Mumbai. Connecting flight for onward journey back home (or other tour options available in Mumbai).
