Day 1

Pick-up from Delhi Airport and transfer to guest house to refresh. Free day in Delhi. Arrive in the morning into Delhi airport. Transfer to guesthouse. Freshen up and relax. Half day tour of Delhi, lunch en-route. Drive by India Gate, the Presidential Palace, lunch en-route, and then on to Old Delhi – visit impressive Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site - a symbol of India`s Mughal past, and now of India`s sovereignty. Immerse yourself in the chaos of Chandni Chowk on cycle-rickshaw. Stroll around magnificent Humayun`s Tomb and its gardens, and watch it change colour as the sun starts to set. Evening to relax and enjoy sumptuous North Indian cuisine. Overnight in Delhi. Meal plan: N/A

Day 2

Early start for drive to the Shekhawati region with breakfast en-route. Check in to your thatched cottage at the eco-lodge. Freshen up, relax. Escorted tour of the local area, where you will witness stunning havelis and walk through the bustling village marketplace. Lunch in the market area. A visit to a local craft workshops can also be organised. Excellent dinner back at the eco-lodge. Overnight in Nawalgarh. Meal plan: B,L,D

Day 3

Early breakfast at the eco-lodge, then set off for Bikaner. Arrive at lunchtime, which will be served at our partner guesthouse. Optional visit to the nearby Rat Temple or Bikaner Fort. Early evening, jump aboard your camel for your journey into the Thar desert. Arrive at the campsite by sunset. Enjoy traditional Rajasthani music and Indian cuisine by starlight. Day 4

Wake up to nice cup of hot chai. Camel cart ride at sunrise. Catch sight of other desert wildlife, including the elegant Indian gazelle. Enjoy a hearty breakfast at guesthouse. Set off for the desert city of Jaisalmer with lunch en-route. Arrive for sunset at the Royal Cenotaphs which has fantastic views over Jaisalmer. Overnight in the ancient Jaisalmer fort. Day 5

Full day tour of Jaisalmer. After breakfast visit picturesque Gadesar Lake and spend the rest of the day exploring the myriad alleyways of Jaisalmer Fort. In particular, admire intricate temples and havelis. Bargain in local shops for beautiful handmade artefacts. Evening to relax and soak in the atmosphere of your ancient surroundings. Day 6

After breakfast, leave for the ‘Blue City’ of Jodhpur. Stop off for sumptuous lunch at the Heritage Resort. On arrival in Jodhpur, visit the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort with stunning views of Jodhpur’s blue buildings. Famous for its textiles, browse for Rajasthani fabrics and handicrafts at the market. Early dinner before boarding comfortable overnight AC train to Delhi. Meal plan: B

Day 7

Your driver will pick you up at Delhi train station and transfer you to guesthouse for breakfast. Freshen up and relax. Free day at your leisure in Delhi. Suggested sightseeing can be arranged or browse some of Delhi’s best shopping districts. Lunch and dinner locally. Late evening, transfer to airport for return flight. Meal plan: B
