Leticia is the capital of Colombia's Amazonas region, and is a small jungle town on the Tres Fronteras meaning it is at the junction of the Colombian, Brazillian and Peruvian borders. Filled with brightly coloured houses, cafes and restaurants, ports and markets, it serves as a gateway to the Amazon and is the only way into the Amazon from Colombia. Leticia was part of Peru and called San Antonio, until 1922 when a treaty passed it to Colombia and they renamed it Leticia.
